    Just bought a 2007 Ford Focus 1.6.

It says its an LX connection but it has front and rear electric windows, quickclear windscreen, fron tarmrest, 16" 5 spoke ford alloys and front fog lights. Is this right? i though LXs were far less well specced?

Also, what is the connection about? thanks :D

    hiya,

My wife has the same, comes with keyless entry and bluetooth connectivity for your mobile (well hers did...).

The LX usually has a lower but I think the 07 was a model refresh so they were probably trying to increase sales with a nice bundle.

Basically Bluetooth, rear electric window, armrest, alloys and fogs.

I'd search out a Zetec connection - really nice spec on those.

The Focus LX Connection was a special edition pack that included keyless entry, bluetooth, rear electric windows, 16" alloy wheels and front fog lights. It was around €1500 worth of extras and only cost €500 over the standard Focus LX.

There was also the Focus Zetec Connection which offered on top of the LX Connection and standard Zetec model, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, auto dimming rear view mirror, climate controlled air conditioning and 17" alloy wheels.

I'd be inclined use the bluetooth for phone use only. Look at fitting ipod/usb connections.

Is there an aux input in the glovebox? Probably a small white circular disc with a hole in the middle, towards the top of the glovebox when you open it.

I know it's there in the Mondeo's, but not sure whether the Focus connection would have had it. If it is there, a €5 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack lead and Bob's your Uncle - will use a lot less battery than the streaming over BT as well.

I would think a specialist audio installer would be the obvious choice if you want to fit aux imputs etc rather then a main dealer.

Installing the AUX input isn't difficult. Just need to remove the glovebox(4-5 screws) and drill a small pre-marked hole to the left of the locking latch.
There are instructions with the kit, which you can buy from your Ford dealer.
Alternatively, you can buy the kit ,buy a 3.5mm jack socket from Maplin and go to this site for instructions on how to install a more convenient AUX in.
    http://web.mac.com/zifnab/Visteon_6000CD_in_Ford_Focus_C-Max/How_to_wire_the_Aux_input_on_A_Visteon_6000CD_in_a_C-Max.html
I'm not the most tecnically minded, but these instructions were clear and easy to follow.
AFAIK, that Ford unit has an older bluetooth technology that can't stream audio tracks.

Just checked on my own Focus and there is something like that in the glovebox. Must check to see if it is an aux input.
