it seems to be a D4 view of Ireland, where those outside of the Pale are muck savages. Opinions are only fought from those who frequent Grafton Street.
hard to believe that such a programme makes it onto the so called national broadcaster.

Oh don't be so thin-skinned. There isn't anyone he doesn't do a skit on.
Its comedy and actually quite funny.

Its crap of the lowest order. Talk about negative stereotyping! Imagine if there was a similar show about black people. There would be an uproar!

while i think one season would have done it as the jokes are really starting to repeat a lot i still think its one of the more intelligent things to come out of rte in the last while.

I genuinely wonder how people can find this programme funny. It's aimed at people who have a minus I.Q by the looks of it.
I was recently told that I was 'weird' that I was the 'only person in Ireland who doesn't like it'.
    Gimp.

I watched three episodes of it. Laughed twice. The garda sketch and the Goodfellas take on Saipan.

There was, it was last weeks episode of the savage eye. It stereotyped them but kind of disclaimed the stereotype in a way. Also targeted for stereotyping from the show are English, Northern Irish, the catholic church, the gay community, the elderly, lower classes of society, celebritys. These are some I can think of.

Look at the Ross O Carroll books. They would be offensive to people from outside Dublin or from the Northside of Dublin but its comedy and satire.

I resent the amount of coverage this guy is getting. although very average in terms of humour he has no problem getting on his cousins talkshow.

maybe this kind of cronyism will end after the next election.

I saw him perform on the streets and he was more offensive than funny.

his savage eye seems to be 1980s in style, with gags equally as old.

I think you will find most of RTEs comedies are directed towards people with low IQs. they just need to say **** and mickey to get the laughs.

Just to point out that there's already a (very long) thread on this show in the Television forum where people are giving their opinions; not really any point in replicating that here.

Maybe it might be worthwhile to take this discussion in another direction or else for people to take their comments over there?
