IPHONE INSURANCE ALTERNATIVES?

Having a problem insuring my iphone and need advice. Had insurance with 3/fonesure, where i got three months free. Direct debit was set up and payments were due to commence late autumn. Never normally miss a direct debit payment but took my eye of the ball and noticed after Christmas no payments had been made and contacted fonesure to find out what was going on. They told me the first direct debit hadn't happened, my contract was cancelled and my bank should have notified me. I was prepared to pay back payments and continue policy as I was unaware of circumstances but they refused to. On research I noticed an unpaid fee on a bank statement but I heard nothing from fonesure until I contacted them and was under the assumption that i had full cover?
Anyway I now cant seem to get alternative insurance anywhere, the main problem being that the phone is over 6 months old. Any ideas, never lost a phone in my life but never had a phone worth 600e either?

List it as a named item on home contents insurance. Reading here last week that by naming it with some companies you can avoid a large excess.

Many home insurance policies exclude mobiles, so check your policy details first.
