Baritone Guitar

Hey,

I'm looking into getting a baritone semi acoustic or electric, probably electric.
Anyone any tips or recommendations to look up?

I know very little about them, but I am looking to be able to tune down 4 semitones or more (from standard tuning)

Baritones can sound great, really full. I play 7 strings myself so I play in B a lot. Here's a few links to some different baritones, you didn't say what style you were looking at so there's a bit of a mix there. Some are 6 string basses but they are like the fender bass IV so they are somewhere between a bass and guitar with a 30 inch scale and 6 strings, so pretty much a baritone guitar.

Most of these are actually quite cheap but you might have to do some looking around to source one. If you can't find a nice baritone you can tune down on a regular 6 string. I've often tuned really low and it should hold it's tuning and feel fine as long as you buy the right gauge strings and give the guitar a simple setup.

Edit - Just saw you mentioned a telecaster in a post above, I don't know of any production baritone tele but Warmoth make baritone conversion necks. It should fit right onto a production fender tele so you could easily pick up a 2nd hand MIM and put this on it. http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/necks/tele_baritoneneck.aspx
