    you might have more luck on this website www.travbuddy.com. Hope you find someone but SA is perfectly safe so don't let solo travel put you off!

    would you not go solo? i ended up solo unplanned interailing two years ago and i LOVED it! i instantly met other backpackers i really connected with. Last year i went to SE Asia solo and had the time of my life for three months. Flight booked for SA june 6th:) cant wait! WHen are where are you thinking of going?

    I'm doing Brazil-Argentina-Bolivia-Chile-Peru in June/July. Arriving in Rio the 2nd with another lad (who I only know through a similar thread to this one) and flying home from Lima on the 11th August. No set itinerary yet.

    Go solo its way better. I went solo through Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and Peru late last year. Time of my life.
