Whatever you do don't buy those cables. You'll get terrible picture quality and not be able to read any text. Get an RGB cable instead:

Retro's correct, I use those cables on very rare occasions and the quality is god awful

doesnt the PS3 come with a composite cable anyway? should be in the box if you still have it, but yeah, dont use it, awful.

the cables that come with the ps3 are grand until you try to play GT5 (and i'm assuming a few other games) - then you can't read a word of the menus but once your in a game they'll do...
however gt5 is the only game i've ever experienced this with so - draw your own conclusions....

    that's my 2c anyways

so can the rgb cables be used on sdtvs that only have scart plugs?

RGB cables are scart plugs. If you mean the red white and yellow plugs then no and you should sell that piece of **** TV.
The jump in video quality from composite yellow red and white composite cables to RGB scart is massive. you'll be getting pretty close to full resolution on a few games like CoD 4 in HD on a standard TV while composite just looks terrible.

yea, thats what i was thinking, i had just assumed the OP had an sdtv with just the red, white yellow.

My mate uses this, and you cant rven read the text in fifa, or most games for that matter...

Once you go HD, **** Sd

OP if thats the case, throw out the TV (retro suggested selling it... but you'd be lucky to get anything for it these days)
