    hi All,
Anyone got any feedback on the 2litre yeti diesel? Have heard rumours about reliability issues with the Skoda 2litre engines so any advice would be a help!

    It's no Octavia.

Take one for a test drive and see what you think.
Road holding is very good, ride is less good but not overly bad.
Engine wise, you here as many good reports as bad ones on this engine. Keep it regularly serviced and you should have no major issues.
    MPG is reasonable.

I presume it's the same 2ltr diesel used in Golfs, Passats, the A3, A4, Octavia, Superb and others.

The new CR one, not the dodgy PD one. They are very different animals.

It's the 2.0Tdi CR 110ps engine that briefly appeared in the Passat after the 1.9Tdi and before the 1.6Tdi.

Worked very well in that car - smooth and quiet (for a diesel).

Think we have a couple on fleet and haven't had any issues with them so far. It's the older PD 2.0Tdi that gives issues.

I said i'd never drive a Skoda, but finally have seen the light and. Hence Superb Combi on order and as far as I am concerned the name is apt.

Some day he will come around to the badge snobbery. Seriously though OP the Yeti is a great machine. Did you see the review on Topgear??. Two friends have them and they love them. 22.5K for the top of the rage Diesel Yeti with a Panoramic sunroof is excellent value IMO.

    ...isn't the 140bhp 2.0Tdi one in the B6 Passat CR ?

I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

There's a PD and a CR in the 140 version. Think the PD was in the B6 until late 08 and was replaced by the CR early 09, or sometime around those dates.

    Can hardly be possible...

Yeti reminds me a bit of the gap in the market left by the old Subaru Forester. I'd have one before an Octavia or that big whale of a Superb...

the only thing stopping that old Forester was that it was missing the diesel...had it had one back 5-6yrs ago it would have sold a lot more

The Yeti 2lltre TDi is a good car, well built and spec'd residuals appear to be good at the moment.
