Opening-round 69 for Harrington, four off the early lead. Five birdies, two bogies... hopefully we'll see a good solid week's play from him and a decent finish.

Did anyone see that dude from FedEx nearly drop a hole in one yesterday?

Absolute peach of a shot from an amateur live on TV

Harrington -4 today after 6 and -7 overall, lets hope he can keep it going

Rolled in another birdie on 11th. PH at -8 now, the leader (Steve Marino) at -10.

Paddy finishes at 7 under par. Poor miss on 18 for Birdie. But thats 2 under par rounds in a row. Some good positive stuff for the season ahead.

    What happened him?

Haven't heard of him now that you mention him.

I was at Pebble Beach this morning and followed Padraig. The views are pretty amazing, and the golf was interesting ;-)

The amateurs played bi-polar golf. Some awesome stuff, on 17 Dermot Desmond beat the pros and was closest to the pin (looked to be within three feet, and then missed the birdie putt). With an interesting technique, JP McManus played some really nice shots, but then had a few horrors chipping around the green.

Although Padraig scored well, he didn't play particularly well. By this I mean that he could have saved another five or six shots. I think this is really encouraging for the rest of the week, especially as I have 50 euro each way on him at 33/1!

He also seemed incredibly relaxed, and had a bit of a laugh with the crowd on a few occasions.

I am going back tomorrow and will follow him again, and if he is in contention will be back on Sunday too.

I might break the rules tomorrow and take a couple of photos on my iPhone and pop them up here too.

Not gonna lie, this tournament is one massive pain in the arse to watch. Only cameras on one course, no shots of most of the leaders and never ending ad breaks. As for Nick Faldo interviewing celebrities

I'd say if it wasn't for Di presenting the 2 boys in studio would have sacked it in hours ago :D

WTF is Padraig at? A 3,4,5,6,7 and 8 in 11 holes!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 948 ✭✭✭SSK

Usual par 5 shenanigans from Harrington, 15 shots over two holes

Massive logjam at the top, still fancy Marino to take it, he's swinging beautifully without too much reward yet. Shaping up to be an exciting finish

Looking at Harringtons 8 on the 2nd hole on shot tracker, just looks like a child is after scribbling all over the green.

Was JP Mcmanus playing this weekend here? Just seen Dermot Desmond.

Beyond words how bad the coverage is. Sky in fairness can do nothing but fill the empty spaces.

Aidric commenting on Harrington bombing on the weekend...well I never :D

Looks like the failings of last year haven't gone away, poor driving accuracy over the weekend and an unfailing ability to rack up mahoosive scores on par 5's. Only 2 birdies the whole weekend as well, which is worrying considering he never had a problem making birdies even at his worst in 2010

    Edit - 3 birdies now

Just like last year in the states, 2 great rounds and 2 rubbish ones. I know hes not doing it on purpose, but seriously letting himself down.

Shame about that chest bump between himself and Bill Murray, great shot though.

Still rooting for Marino, cause that bellend Faldo has totally slated him all week. No questioning what he achieved in the game but hes an obnoxious tool.

Completely agree with ya on the Faldo point. Cant stand listening to his ****e talk on the US coverage. Way too analytical altogether.
David Feherty is an absolute legend though...could listen to him all night

Spot on there, Feherty and McCourt are two legends!! Looking like Points has it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,082 ✭✭✭bigtimecharlie

    D.A. Points has won.

S Marino took an 8 on the par 5 last to fall away.

Here are a few of the sneaky photos I took at the golf on Saturday.

It was a shame that Padraig fell away so badly after a promising start, but he seemed to be in good humor.

JP McManus is now my new favorite billionaire! The guy is a gent, and really interacted well with the crowd. His golf was a little up and down, but it was great to see him sink a 35 foot putt on Saturday. During the Saturday round, he came over to my girlfriend and myself and offered us sun block as he could see that we were very pale. He then had a chat with us for a few minutes while there was as delay ahead on the course.

An absolutely shocking weekend performance from Padraig & no sign of any improvement at all. If anything he is more inconsistent than ever. After round 2 he was in 4th place & finished in 63rd place. I fear that he will continue down the world rankings & be out of the top 50 before long. A shame to see this sad decline.

Completley disagree. He has shown sign of improvement. He was muck over the weekend but I think there is enough in the last few weeks to show he will have a decent year.

Also don't get the whole funny man Bill Murray, the bloke is a d**kh**d

It's probably a good thing he didn't connect with Murray properly, he would have floored him!!!

On Bill, he was funny... at times. But it was is if he felt he had to say something after every single shot! It was just a little OTT.
