car problem

    lat couple of days my folks car a ford fusion 1.4 has been acting up, was reving quite high while going slow and while changing gears it was roaring, anyways this morning on an incline the car wouldnt move in gear , gearbox and clutch are fine but it wont move and revs quite high ,im puzzled, also a smell of burning from engine,any help appreciated

    I don't think your clutch is fine at all by the sounds of things!

    maybe but its feels fine not heavy and slides into gear like th day it was bought

    Revving + burning + no movement when in gear is most likely the clutch is completely worn away. (in my opinion/experience anyway!)

    While it was on the way out, your folks may (or may not) have noticed the car revving up more than usual will going up hills, or as you implied - a load of noise and revving but no "go" after changing gears.

    ya they did and i notice it too as i was using it for work the last week, clutch it prob is so, another hape of money down the drain:mad:
