Strictly no carbs, very little protein and sweat train or sauna or possibly do both-most likely needed with 8Kg to cut.

if you mean weight loss, just diet and train hard till you get to weight cut stage..

    Hope that helps

Depends in the time span of that 8 kg.

    8-10 weeks-diet and training

    1 week-cut of your leg

diet is the key....i have to laugh at some people when they say "aw il be alrite il lose the last 4-5kg in the sauna"ur performance will drop by 30+% during the fight.you gotta know ur body and what works for you..iv cut 3kgs in the sauna and i though i was gonna die so its important to know what works for you.as joe said it should be done 8-10 weeks out and not dropping it all at once in last week..iv experienced it b4 and u just aint gonna fight ur full potenial in the fight..iv been chatting to a few ufc lightweight guys and they all do it through diet.weightcutting is part of the game..its also and art and must be taking seriousily

How long before the fight were you weighing in? And how close to your pre-cut weight were you when the fight started?

What would be a typical breakdown for the 8-10 weeks before the fight, (assuming weighing in the day before).
How much weight do you lose through diet and how much at the end through water cutting.

If you go low carb or reduce the amount of food you doesnt it make it very difficult to train hard?

Anyone have a decent diet plan they stick to for the weeks prior to a fight?

Just a wonderance, but surely if you're training for a fight, you'd be training under an experienced coach? So wouldn't they be the best people to ask about something as important as cutting weight?

Sorry if I come accross as ratty or anything, just genuinely wondering.
