    Moody has cut ratings on bonds issues by Irish banks driving up the costs for Irish banks if they wished to source funding outside of the EU. This is due to uncertainty about banking policy due to the soundbites being traded over banking policy by the main parties.

    Just in case people thought that pre-election posturing didn't have real effects outside of Ireland.
