    Hello Lads and Lassies,
I was wondering does anybody know any other websites that could be used to find band members?
I'v left an ad here which unfortunately has had no luck. I'v tried Thumped, Musolist and Joinmyband aswell and they have all pretty much have had the same out come.
Is there any where else that could be checked?

Thanks for any help in advance :)
    Mark

Try gumtree.ie, seems to be a bigger footfall here though.

You can try my site if you like :) Built it specifically for this purpose! You can browse through the classifieds or through the current list of members and maybe find someone. Good luck!

For what its worth these other sites dont get the same traffic as boards. I have posted on them occasionally but the amount of hits you will get on boards far exceeds the other sites good in all as they might be .
You should go onto one of them and check the add posting dates , you will be amazed how old some of them are . As hard as it is to find musicians on boards (and i know) personally i think you stand a better chance of success here .

I think I may just take the advice and just bump my ad on boards and hope for the best.

Unless you're very lucky finding suitable band members will take time. The last band I was in that went anywhere was put together off ads on here and we went through a bunch of singers and drummers before our lineup was satisfactory. Whatever about their musical ability, it's vital to assess people's personalities as well. As far as I'm concerned there's no point having the next Jimi Hendrix in your band if he's going to miss practice because he's hungover for example.

You could also try the old-school approach of putting notices up in music shops around wherever you're from.

Oh I know that. In my opinion it's probably one of the most important things in a band that everybody gets on and has the same kind of mindset.
We have stuck notices in a few places but to no luck but were willing to wait for the right singer :)

I can relate to how hard it is to find band members, especially if you're style/approach in music is somewhat "alternative". But then if you are looking for covers/indie/session bands then this is the spot.

Yeah it can be a pain alright. like for most of our songs we just need a vocalist to sing and maybe make up some lyrics and were done so it can be frustrating having songs basically lying around
