    Hi guys,
on the athlone by pass this morning doing 80 on what is usually a 100 section which is now down to 50. Saw the camera van too late and as i got closer it's hazard lights flashed. is this some new way of showing that you've been caught?

There was one parked at the side of the N2 this morning (first "Safety" van I've seen) with his hazards flashing.

No way anyone was speeding there - think that bit is a 100km/h zone and traffic was around 40-50 at that point.

Perhaps it's just to make them more visible in the dark, as it's all about safety and not about fines and points........

I do 25k miles a year and have not had one before so the next few weeks should be interesting waiting for the letter....or two! Think they may have also got me on wednesday. they'll be raking in the cash this week as i reckon they'll catch 90% of the traffic on the athlone by pass heading east in the morning. Van is 100m before the motorway starts and everyone is getting up to speed.

Still puzzled about the hazards flashing.

Is the speed camera van located around the Athlone bypass on a regular basis?

Is it well known by now that a speed camera is likely to be there?
