what absolutel miserable b'astards/bitches they must be to thank a mod for infracting or banning someone

fair enough, i accept that sometimes mod intervention is necessary when someone is acting the absolute prick but to see people gleefully weigh in behind the mod decision with a shower of thanks is truly pathetic behaviour

it's worst of all when you are having a heated yet reasoned debate with someone and they chicken out and the mod finds some loophole or just invents whatever reason to silence you and the person who backed out of the debate with you the chimes in with the thanks (only happens in partizan forums)

anyway as i said sometimes mods have to step in but people who indulge in schadenfreude are the lowest of the low in my opinion and lack dignity, integrity and oftentimes courage too

the only social group I'd classify on a lower scale than the modthankers are the superman t-shirt wearers....quite often the sorry truth is that they are the same person

it would be hilarious though if I was banned from AH and a load of people thanked the post now though (i'd expect to have the ban overturned on appeal mind you but I'd accept it temporarily for the purposes of the ironic joke therein)

OP has a number of good points. I've often believed many mods were thanks whores (after all, why else work for someone else for free?)
And the thanks system highlights groupthink, acts as peer pressure in an online environment and in the case of people thanking mods for banning other people, reveals just what a large proportion of society are natural suck ups.

I thanked a mod just the other night

Some muppet troll has riled a forum all night. Logged off at 01:55 and at 02"01 we had a new muppet troll with the same nonsense and same language ranting away.

Got reported, IP check ran, poster banned

Sure I thanked the mod, so did most everyone on the forum that night. Several posters

    OK.
So it seems you have insulted a number of posters with your original thread donfers.
    absolutel miserable b'astards/bitches
    etc. etc.
Now the problem here is that through some
    loophole
that kind of accusatory nonsense isn't really OK. You're attempting to insult on the one hand while hoping your points get noticed as general feedback on the other. I would suggest a number of alternatives.
You could post on the feedback forum offering genuine feedback / help ref after hours IE choose more careful wording yet offer a similar point to the point raised.
Or I can move this to the thunderdome and give other posters the same opportunity to insult you the way you have chosen to insult them.
Please drop me a PM for clarification.
