hi all, need some recommendations for insurance for my 1979 Jeep CJ7. I've finally got around to finishing the re-wiring and heavy work on the suspension so I'll hopefully get it on the road again this summer. So who to insure with, what kind of engineering report do they require etc. Thanks for your anticpated help.

What age are you for a start?

Carol Nash insured my Escort Mk3, fully comp for €450 or something like that. No NCT or engineers report required. They also insure drivers aged 23 or older, unlike most other places that are 25+.

AXA Concours. You should get cover for under €300

You should try First Ireland they could do day to day vehicule as a classic or day to day vehicule not a classic + 100€ for extra vehicules.

The deal with FBD is to be menber of Irish vintage society of Ireland and you will insurrance for €162 fully comp.

asked first ireland today about adding a mk1 VW golf to my existing vintage car insurance policy, wouldn't do it , said that VW golfs don't come under the vintage category !
This is a bit funny, anyone else any experiences this way ? (told them golf in early eighties)

Hmm...I'm not a member of the Irish Vintage Society. But, FBD did ask was I a member of a club, I told them I'm a member of the Mercedes Club (true), and they didn't ask for any proof or anything.

AXA Concours Insurance should be able to assist you with the cover and benefits you need - Paul in AXA Galway 091568101 should be 1st guy you call.

Upto 4-cars are applcable per policy and 24hr Roadside assistance for each car should be worth a call
