Homeplugs vs Wireless N

I am streaming media via a Linksys wireless N router. However, the media is occasionally jerky even though my wireless N connection is very strong.

Do home plugs provide a better viewing experience or are they on par with wireless N?

Run a cat5 if at all possible, it does gigabit. You'd be suprised how simple it is to conceal the cable, put a bit of thought into it

I'd like to avoid drilling holes and running cable.
