Braces Query

Hi everyone. Just looking for some advice on my teeth. I'm just wondering what would be the procedure be re this.. My top teeth are completely straight and look quite good.. however my bottom teeth are another story.. the front 4 teeth of my bottom teeth are completely wonky and then the rest are quite good.. looking appearance wise I think it could be due to overcrowding but obviously I don't know as I'm not a denist! Wondering would I have to get braces to get this rectified or could the dentist remove a tooth to reduce crowding? Also how much would it cost just for a bottom brace only?? Would it be much cheaper up north? Thanks

That sounds like my teeth only in reverse: my top teeth had two crooked ones and the bottoms were straight. Never thought I needed any work done until this time last year. The dentist told me that my bite was all off, fast forward a year and I've just past the six month mark with braces on the top and the bottom.

The first thing I'd say to you is to go to an orthodontist for a consultation. Then go to a different one for a second opinion! In total, I saw three dentists and two orthodontists before I decided to take the plunge! If you live near enough to the the north, then considering going up there, you will save at least 1000euro! I am paying £2500 for braces on top and bottom in Newry whereas I would have paid 4000euro in the south.

It is sore getting them on and getting them adjusted and you feel very self conscious about them at first, but you get used to them. And they are so worth it! I had to get one extraction, but my top teeth are now completely straight and I can see how fabulous they will be!

Worth every penny I can give you details of my ortho if you like

I am sure the teeth could be straightened but you should go to your dentist or orthodontist to get an opinion. You can also get a 2nd opinion if you want to be sure.

The prices for specialist orthodontic treatment have come a down a lot recently. There would not be as much saving as you might think by going up North. Look up www.orthodontics.ie
