Need help regarding vet clinics

    Hi everyone.

I am posting this on behalf of my mum, who lives in Carlow.

She owns a 2 year old budgie, and it seems that this budgie has become diabetic.
She doesn't know where to take the bird, as most vets she has contacted don't deal with birds.
Can anyone tell me of the nearest place to carlow/kilkenny, where she might be able to get this bird looked at and helped?

    Many thanks

Yvonne at "Happy paws" in Bennetsbridge had a bird that required help , I am sure she would tell you where to go if you give her a call.

Any of the bigger, primarily small animal clinics can probably help, at least a little. How does she know it's diabetic?
You may want to look into specialist care - the only exotics vet I know of is Bairbre O'Malley in Bray, Co. Wicklow. I know it's a long drive but if she helps you, she may be able to send you to someone more local for follow up treatment.
