Got sent this today, haven't fully read it yet, but I know the nutrition question gets asked quite a bit on here - maybe the mods can add to the all you need to know thread.
The attached is a guide for athletes prepared by the medical commission of the IOC. It's seems quite comprehensive covering general diet and then specific nutrition advice for training, competiting and recovery and then different sport types.

I didn't read the brochure, but the below is the very first paragraph in the document:

    The Coca-Cola Company, via the
    Powerade brand, has formed a
    very successful partnership with
    the IOC Nutrition Working Group
    and the IOC Athletes’
Commission. This partnership has created a
nutrition brochure which we hope will provide
you with practical information for this
    prestigious sporting event.

This would immediately make me doubt the validity of the document and wonder whether or not the purpose is to make sure Athletes have optimum nutrition, or to pimp and sell coca cola products and supplements.

As i say i haven't went through it all but i have a very suspicious nature.

You old cynic. In fairness they aren't behind the door in their involvement (unlike some shoe free dudes on this board ;)). Also the only place (from my quick find search) they advocate drinking cola (not necessarily coke) is to do with the benefits of caffeine
