Long story short my policy with Axa is ending and im moving to different company. Axa never sent a certificate of no claims with my renewal papers. I have since contacted axa but they want 25 euro to send it out to me.

Has anyone managed to get around this situation without giving the robbing swines the money?

Refer it to the Financial Ombudsman.

Same thing happened to me, they claimed it was on the back of the renewal form they automatically sent out but obviously no one even looks at those.

Had to reach for the ky

If you don't still have the renewal notice, you could try going into the local office rather than dealing with them over the phone or by email. Sometimes they're more accommodating in person as they seem to have some discretion regarding charges, etc.

The back of that page should have some speil equivalent to a NCB, they don't seem to send out a page that looks like a proper "cert"

Cheers for the advice lads, I tried the local Axa office also but they insisted on the charge also.

I think I will give the Ombudsman ago because I think its a disgrace that Axa force people who have been their customers to pay 25 euro to print a piece of paper.

But they already sent it to you, and you binned it - that was the freebie you were legally entitled to. They're charging you for a duplicate.

Nope as I said in my first post I never got any renewal documentation.

How many pages was sent out? My insurance was up recently with AXA and they sent me out 2 pages. This was accepted by my new insurance company. I remember having to send off 3 scanned pages. One of the pages was blank on one side.

so you got no renewal notice with a price for the new year?
how do you know that the new company is cheaper than AXA?

No - you said you got renewal documentation, but there was no cert with it:
Axa never sent a certificate of no claims with my renewal papers.

It's on the back page of 1 of your renewal papers. I got one in November 2010. I actually rang AXA to ask for my No Claims cert, and they told me to check the renewal notice - I looked and it was there.
IIRC, it's only half a page high and doesn't even look 'official' - but that was it alright.

123.ie wanted this when I was moving to Axa this year. It was free if they emailed it though so it might be worth ringing them and asking. I binned my original...

You say they never sent your renewal. Ask them to provide proof of postage and delivery - they don't have it.

 Jesus Christ - read his post, man. He said he got renewal papers, but no No Claims cert. I even clarified that 2 posts above yours!

Why do people swan into topics, half-read the original post, then give irrelevant advice?

€25 is robbery even if it was received

    I wonder that too?
the OP is saying they want their renewal NCB info
I had the same problem with quinn once, I requested they send me my ncb as there was none in the renewal letter, they said it was there and I could clearly see it wasn't, you dont know that this poster has received theirs, errors happen.

Yeah, I do. AXA print them on the back of the renewal papers. He said he received the renewal papers but he didn't check for it there, as he assumed it was a separate cert, and he'd already binned them when he found out.

Read my post - it's 4 posts above yours.

And the OP said he received the renewal papers - therefore, HE admits he received the cert, but he didn't know it was printed on the back of the renewal papers. So why are you confused? Another case of not reading posts properly...

Not sure what your attitude is for, maybe you're just looking for an argument but unless you were in the OPs house and saw the letter, then no you dont, first the OP never said he binned anything, second I had a similar thing were Quinn said my renewal NCB was in with my renewal but it wasn't, errors happen!

The Op clearly hasn't admitted receivingf them, they have clearly said they didnt get them even though they got the renewal, Like I said if it can happen it will, as it did to me so, unless you were there when the OP opened the letter then you are talking out your ar*e

Hes a edited copy of mine. Have another look at what they sent you, you could have missed it. Take a look down the bottom right hand corner of whatever docs they did send. It should say the number of pages. Should only be 2 pages anyway.

Do you always have trouble with logic?

I'll try again in more detail: AXA print your NCB cert on your renewal notice - it is not enclosed separately - it is printed automatically on the bottom of every renewal letter that gets sent out - most people miss it though, but nevertheless it's still there. The OP said he got his renewal letter... therefore, he got his NCB cert but didn't realise. Since he wasn't renewing with AXA, he likely binned it; I know this because if he didn't bin it, he would have it! Are you still lost?

It happened to me in November when leaving AXA - I rang them to ask for it, and they said to look at the renewal letter - and it was there - that's why I remember specifically. I was looking for a "cert" similar to my policy - but it's less obvious than I thought it would be and easily miss-able. It was my fault for disregarding the letter as merely a renewal letter, but luckily I didn't bin it. If I had binned it, I likely would have been ratty with them too on the phone, claiming out of ignorance that I never got it.
I had a similar thing were Quinn said my renewal NCB was in with my renewal but it wasn't
AXA don't put theirs "in" with the renewal - it is PART of the renewal letter.
