Just wondering what would be considered the cheapest capital city to live in? Cheapest as in accommodation, food, drink, touring and general living expenses?

It's not just capitols, it seems to include all cities.

Tehran is also incredibly cheap as is Iran in general.

You probably wouldn't want to live in some of the cheapest capitals. I would look for the cheapest liveable capitals on the Indian subcontinent or in South-East Asia.

Thats intresting. I wouldn't have thought that any African city would be in the top 20, let alone 3 of them in the top 10.

well it is a survey of cost of living for EXPATS. I think it's for companies to look at when they're sending workers abroad, but have to keep their salary in line with local costs or whatever. But this means in some cities renting in places with gated communities, maybe having some security, don't really know the details, but I don't think that's the answer to the question you're looking for. I just know for years they said Moscow was the most expensive city. I've visited Moscow and while some things are expensive, you don't need those things to live there, but somebody being sent there on secondment will be offered the fancy flat, the driver, all the trappings.
