    Lads, need a pro and con of this:

    2x 6850 cards in x-fire for ~€300

    or

    1 6970 for ~ €315
    ===================

    Cheers

    ? No opinions ?

    Nevermind, I ordered a shinny new 6970 for myself. Its the best choice, and down the road I can x-fire that card with another 6970 :P

    You've made the right choice. After having crossfire for the last 18 mths (4870x2) I can't wait to go back to a single card. It introduces a new issue called micro stutter, where you get 60fps but still feel lag as your cpu struggles to feed both cards fast enough. I felt it even with my cpu at 3.8Ghz.

    I've a single 6870 coming tomorrow

    My asus 6970 arrived last week, from HWVS, a great place to order.

    But yeah, this card is chewing up everything I throw at it @ 1920x1660 full HD with fancy AAA.

    Good luck with the bios flash ;)
