  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,629 ✭✭✭Hunchback

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,629 ✭✭✭Hunchback

Is this a contract law test question or did you actually put the ad in a newspaper?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 95 ✭✭number13

no i put an ad in the paper for a concert but the con cert was cancelled

    What concert was it?

Besides the legal issues, why would you put an ad in a paper to look for a hotel rather than just ringing a few hotels or going online?, is this some weird subtle trolling or am I missing something?

I am slightly bewildered as to what or why you put an add in the newspaper for a hotel room. Yet appear to be depth at using an online forum?

    Can we see this ad?

Surely if your said first suitable offer you could just tell them their room is un suitable.

    Me smells a troll.

You have some very weird dealings with hotels.

Do your own contract law assignments ;)

Asking for help is cool, passing them off as real life events isn't

    People? What people? So:

    A) You put an ad in the paper saying "Hey, I'm offering E200 for a hotel room! First suitable room gets the money", without looking at the room, or pricing any by means of phoning different hotels or checking out prices online. This ad didnt specify what the suitability was for, ie. wheelchair accessible, mini-bar, 2 bed or 4 bed etc.? In this ad you gave your number and requested that interested parties ring after 6pm. And on a completely unrelated tangent, you wanted to go to a concert.

    B) Somebody actually answered your ad and left you a message stating their interest.

    C) They left their message within the time-frame you requested, but for whatever reason you didnt answer it immediately.

    D) Now some random hotel is demanding E200 off you, eventhough you didnt stay in any hotels.

Am I right so far? Am I the only one who sees the OP's story this way?

That's it Newmug, but from the post above yours, it looks like the OP is just a troll trying to get other to do his assignments for him the easy way, instead of asking for help or someone's opinion he is trolling it as a true event. In which case OP we cannot give you legal advice on this matter, please consult a solicitor :P
