Getting a better discount from upc

    Hi there
I have upc equipment on the side of my house and for that they give me a discount of 50% on the basic only €12. I'm not too happy with this deal so I tried to get a better deal on a sky sports package. Best they would offer is 2 months free of sky sports and movies. I told them no and that I wanted a permanent deal on the sports and if they were not prepared to do so that they could come and take their equipment off the side of my house.
I really thought I had the upper hand here as they'll have to fix it elsewhere which will be hassle and paying the men to do so.
So as it stands someone is going to contact me about moving their equipment.
All I want is a better deal but I am prepared to get them out as I'll go back to sky. Anyone have any dealings similar to this and could suggest a better way of working this out.
    Thanks

You should get free "line rental" outta them (€35/month) We did.

Thanks for the quick reply but we don't have a phone but it's interesting that your getting a discount worth €35 and mine is worth €12.

I didn't mean "line rental" as regards a phone. We don't have a UPC phone. We get €35 a month in credit on the bill and this covers the standing charge. I know someone else who gets the same. You need a UPC engineer to come out to confirm that the plant is theirs and necessary, not a sub-contractor, and this can take a bit of chasing but worth the effort.

Someone in the family has the box on their wall. They get one free basic digital sub and box. What ever that cost. They have to pay for their other + box. Bit stingy IMO.
