How much do you spend a month on golf?

What do you guys reckon you spend a month on golf?

Between membership and competition fees I reckon I'm paying about €140 and this will increase in summer if playing a few opens etc.

Plus I always seem to buy some bit of gear even if it's just something small like a packets of tees. Other months then it could be a bigger purchase such as clothing etc. Reckon it would average at about €40 at least per month.

So I'm thinking an average of around €180 pm.

    How does everyone else compare?

I'd imagine it's around the €150 per month mark.

Although I've promised myself that I would spend less on clothing / green fees in other courses this year - and just concentrate on my own course whilst channeling money back into lessons.

Anytime I wander into a golf store I seem to come out with something, like last Friday I bought a new bag towel even though i had 2 already at home in perfect condition. Must learn to stop doing this, it all adds up

I actually never thought of that, always have a few bets on the paddypower account too. That probably takes me over the €200 mark

I'm like that as well - although it's a lot easier said than done!

Factor in petrol cost ,betting in bookies, betting with mates, bottle of pop and a bar, or whatever your fancy is, golf balls, tees, meal after game, the odd drink.
I suppose it depends how much you play, but it's costing me an arm and a leg:eek:

Can't see any positive outcome from this exercise... the revealing truth? The painful truth? The incriminating truth? :D
I don't spend much on top of membership and fees etc but I do know that I don't want a figure put on it...

Qft if my missus knew how much more went out extra the wedding may be cancelled.
She thinks it ends at the membership fee. With balls and competition money during the summer. I dont want to know

couple of years back it would have been 400+ per month. floating golfer, 2 games a week @ approx 40 each plus betting.....which I seemed to lose most of the time. currently about 200.

    Golf Membership - 1450
Pitch and Putt Membership - 120
    Competition Fees - 5 per week (average) = 250
Countrywide Trips with Mates (+ meals)- 300
    Work Golf Outings - 200
    Petrol - 200

    So assuming no equipment purchases - total = €2520 / 12 = €210

I pay out about €70 a month and (most days) it's money well spent, on a good day there is no other place to be than being out on the course!!
