Lads and ladies in bands i think its time that there was a section for promoters to leave their contact details for bands to get in touch.

    Rules for the promoters
1.No Pay to play gigs are allowed be advertised
2.No gigs allowed be promoted this is just for contacts
3.This is not a place for promoters to discuss events like i said simply contact details.

    Rules for bands
    1.Do not pester promoters
2.Do no spam promoters in box's if this works then promoters should have alot of bands getting in touch, it takes time to get threw a email list.
3.Not a rule more a suggestion have a demo even a rough one to let promoters know your style.
4.Do not discuss gigs on the thread as stated above for contacts only.

So if people want to see this thread happen please vote yes. It will make it so much easier than multiple postings of...band looking for gigs..

As dhmusic has pointed out there is already a resources thread on this very forum so that should take care of getting promoter's contact details. Bands themselves are probably better off making contact using traditional phone/e-mail rather than creating discussion threads on this forum.

If I get a chance over the weekend I'll tidy up the resources thread by splitting the sections out into individual posts.

    Good idea.

Just curious, what would happen if the promoter was trying to arrange a new night/event but isn't allowed to advertise it to newer bands due to the new rules?
It might make it harder to attract newer talent if he/she cant advertise their night.

Can you clarify what you mean, I don't understand what you've written. There's a Gigs & Events forum here. Is that what you're referring to?

If I'm understanding you correctly, that's the way we do it already?

Yes but like myself for instance i didnt know that there were numbers of promoters in the rescources thread when i made this thats why now i think it will be easier to just have a thread saying...PROMOTER CONTACTS or something.

    But what about:
    The venues,
    The rehearsal rooms,
    The recording studios
    The websites,
    The vocal coaching
    The other resources?

Should they all have their own thread?

What would get your attention to that thread? Renaming it? What is more inclusive than: "Bands & Musicians Resources"

Honestly, we can't *force* people to read the stickies, and if a musician doesn't read a thread called "Bands & Musicians Resources", tbh that's kind of his own fault, in my opinion

    *trust me, I've tried :D

Well even if you could just have a title saying contact details and then the different headings inside it.

When I get some free time I'll re-arrange the Resources so that they are split into separate posts. Is that what you mean by title and heading?

Also I agree 100% with what Papa Smut posted regarding the resources thread. If it wasn't going to result in a mountain of work I'd love each thread on this forum to be pre-moderated to ensure the necessary details were provided to prevent questions like "Where are you based?" or "How much are you charging?" being asked over and over again.

If only I could thank a post more than once.

What exactly would you call the Bands and Musicians Resources thread?

I really don't get what you want from us and your responses have hardly been crystal clear

    \edited to add:

I didn't realise you were down as a promoter with No Problemo Productions. Any reason you didn't supply a phone no?

He did once I asked him, I just haven't gotten around to updating the post yet.
