Need something to replace Difene until a surgery wound heals

I had an appendectomy at the weekend, in hospital they gave my difene and paracetamol and it never hurt a bit.
Now that I'm out I'm only on paracetamol, didn't get a 'script for difene and tbh it's not working nearly as well on its own, I get a sort of burning pain on the wound whenever I have to bend even slightly.

Is there anything I can substitute instead of Difene until this has healed? Particularly as I'm meant to be going to a friend's tomorrow night for his 21st and while I'm obviously going to have to take it very easy after the op I don't want to spend the entire evening sitting stock still for fear of agonizing pain.

The Paracetamol works for about 2 hours somewhat. Can only take it every 4 hours. And it still does leave it fairly sore. The combination with the Difene seemed to completely avoid such pains while I was in hospital.

    Anyone know a substitute painkiller?
Also: If possible I'd like to avoid codeine, it gives me the most appalling headaches. I'll give it a go if there's absolutely no other choice but I'd really, really rather not.

Mate you need to go see your GP. There are always potential complications with operations, and in some cases pain can be a sign that one may be present. If not, you'll need a script for more painkillers. Either way, randomers on the net can't help you.

    Best of luck.
