    Hi

I'm just about to make a sliding gate for the front of my house.
The basic sizes for the gate are Overall Size 5.5meters wide x 1.5meters high and will have a frame of 40mm box with a 40mm x 100mm along the bottom with the wheels recessed into it.
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good motor/system to drive this?

    Thanks in advance

How heavy is the gate ? It's very important because motors have limit for example 400kg, 500kg, 600kg, 800kg, 1000kg, 1500kg 2000kg ;) 400kg will be cheap but 2000 kg will be expensive. What area You live ?

Sorry I should have put the weight of the Gate up with my first post.

At the moment I'm roughly working out the weight of the steel at around 160kgs but that doesn't include the scrolls, galvanishing, paint, etc.
So to be safe i'm probably looking at a 300kg motor min.

My Location is outside Cork City
