    Have a read for yourself.

Fine Gael have a similar policy, it's called 'universal health insurance'.

This health plan originated in 2001 with the Labour party health strategy and it has remained Labour policy since. A revised document has been launched for GE11.

Details on the policy can be found here

i think it would be more sensible for them to bring down the price of gp visits, at the moment we pay between 40 or 50 euro for a consultation, i would have to be on my last legs to go to doctor because of these prices, say a 25 euro fee, and for them to help the doctors get cheaper insurance cover so that this can be offset, as i have heard that doctors themselves have big overheads and insurance premiums to pay to operate, so why not make it more afordable for doctors to be able to treat us patients cheaper

The difference is that it is acceptable if it comes from a party on the political right.
