    Hi

I'm installing a new ensuite into my house at the moment. I've moved things around a bit and I've popped in a shower where there wasn't one before. I have to run new waste pipes for the shower and the sink.
is it alright to connect the sink and shower waste with a tee piece below the floor and have one waste pipe comming tru the outside wall or doI have to run two seperate pipes?
It'd be so handy if i could do this but I have concerns that when I'm emptying the sink, the water will come up tru the shower plughole!! Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Shay.

You 'should' have them run separately, but i didn't do it either, as I had space constraints.

Water will come up into the shower if you have a blockage past the T on the pipe yes. You should be using 1' 1/2" for the Shower and 1' 1/4" waste for the sink.

You may get gurgling in the shower plughole from time to time when you empty the sink too. Thats about it really, that I can think of.

    Cheers Mate.

Think I'll run 2 seperate pipes. Don't want to have to pull up the floor again if there's a problem.

You can buy a one way waste trap that goes in line. It prevents the water running back from the sink.
