Bad text message :(

    Hi!
I sent a text last night to my sister about a girl I live with and her friend who were both in our house last night, nothing really bad, but I left my phone beside her friend for about five minutes while I left the room and now I'm being paranoid like she read my messages. I dunno if I'm being paranoid and so I don't know whether to approach the situation or let it go! Aggghhh! Any advice from anyone?

Since neither you nor we (Boards readers) know what you wrote, nor whether or not the person read your texts, there's no great point in us commenting on it.

Best advice I can offer is this: never put in writing a comment about somebody that you would not say to their face.

    Be at peace,

    Z

Dont do anything. Other than follow Zen's advice not to write/say stuff you dont want repeated or overheard.

Ok, the girl I live with is acting different today so I'm pretty sure her friend looked at my phone. I approached the subject there and she more or less said she knew what I had texted. All my own fault I know :(

Well if you are having problems with your housemate, maybe this is a good way to clear the air and start a fresh with her.

I'd also be asking her friend to leave your property alone.

well it must have been bad if she is off with you.

But still who the hell picks up a stragers phone and looks through thier text messages when they leave the room! thats a bit odd.

Honestly I hadn't left the room more than a few minutes! I normally never leave it lying around either, grrrrr! The worst part is when her friend and her boyfriend and the rest of her friends come to the house, that will be very awkward because they'll all definitely know about it! what a tangled web I weave...

What exactly did she say? More or less can make a HUGE difference with this kinda thing. She may not know anything, I don't know many people who would actually read someone elses texts.

I said something along the lines of i sent a message to my sister last night and it included stuff about you and your friend and the girl I live with (i know her quite well) pretended to look shocked and said "sure I wouldn't pass any remarks", which I thought was a strange enough answer and so I took it to mean she already knew what I had sent in the message
