    Hi all,
Looking to join a mountaineering club - the IMC looks well established. My question is - should I also sign myself up as an individual member of MI, or would my IMC membership include MI membership (and their insurance)?

Also, does anyone know if IMC organise hikes and rock climbing outings regularily? And what wall do they train on? And beginners rock climbing courses?

I tried emailing them but so far no reply.

    Many thanks for any help!
    Rob.

    Hi Rob,
The MI membership is included in the IMC membership.
Some of the guys meet in UCD on a regular basis and they have intro days for those new to the sport in April/May in Dalkey Quarry (FOC).
    Contact Edwige Ducher training@irishmountaineeringclub.org
    for more information.

Adagio, is the IMC suitable for beginners? I'd like to learn about rock climbing, but I have no experience at all.

    Hi Donny,

Yeah, the IMC is perfect for beginners as you'll make bags of contacts and gain from vast experience.
Rock climbing can seem frustrating @ first as it can be difficult to find reliable partners that you can trust. But be patient and persistent and you'll have some amazing experiences.
