Am coming up for renewal and did some quotes on a few sites.
Quinn's best quote (I'm currently with them) was €516, initially €550.
    Worst was Aviva €1,300!
Best was Axa €350 and because I paid a year in full I get €35 back so €315 for a full year.
    Pays to shop around :)

Hmmm certainly does, Im with AXA, the most bizarre thing i found was it was cheaper to get me and the OH insured then it was just me!
    Just me about 850
    Me and OH 780
Doesnt make sense but of course i choose the 2 of us

Aye, they probably want to snare the second car, then the house and health.

:rolleyes:Hmm there is no second car just one vehicle. Im not complaining about it anyway yipee. and there was no hard sell on any other insurances

I'm shocked by the aviva quote, when I got my insurance last year they were by far the cheapest for me. The difference in your quotes is unreal...

It's cheaper again if you have your mother as a named driver on your policy as well!

Ive been with Axa for the last two years and no one can get within about 100 euro of them again this year. They did try to up my insurance a bit after ringing them they gave me the same price as last year.

I got a mad quote from Aviva also over 1000 euro, most other quotes were in the 750 to 900 range, I'm paying 640 with Axa.

Funny thing about aviva is they wanted over a grand on my 318 and didnt want much more for an s2000. That makes very little sense really.

I renewed two weeks ago, was originally with Axa but their renewal was a bit much at 1250.

Rang around a few places and got quotes ranging from 1720....Aviva, 1680...Quinn, to 930 with Fbd. Needless to say who i went with.

I use to be with Quinn but last January they wanted €980 off me so I rang a few places and got a few qoutes of the internet but they were'nt that great so I decided to go in and talk to someone face to face in Axa and they qouted me €680...yes please. My insurance had to be renewed at the end of last month and this year Axa wanted €770 so I went back over to them and I asked them what they could do and they asked was I a member of my local credit union which I was and they said because of that they could bring it down to €700, so I stayed with them. I still think I should be getting better prices than that because I'm 26 year old male driving a 01 Xsara 1.4 with 5 years NCB.

I tried a site called 25plus.ie who are based in the North and they qouted me 400 and something euro and I was going to go with them but my tax needed to be renewed at the same time and you know when you have to pick out your insurance company from the drop down menu on motortax.ie they were'nt there unless they trade as a different name.

I've never been able to get a quote cheaper then first Ireland brokers get for me. The wife pays €340 fully comp on a Toyota IQ and I pay €920 fully comp on a Skyline 350gt.

Couple of weeks ago i was quoted 850 by FBD for 3rd party fire/theft.
Checked 123.ie and got fully comp for 650. 3rd party would have been 470 there. Went back to FBD (was insured there) but they wouldnt go lower.

Fully comp will allow me to get rid of AA road assistence too. Another 100 saved.

Zurich comes out tops (cheapest) for me while still being a good policy

Got a quote for €2600 on a Lotus Elise from Travellers Insurance, added the aul fella and it fell down to €2200. Makes sense :P

Just tried bestquote.ie, and the best one I got was €780 - about €60 more than what I'm paying, and without a lot of the benefits - doesn't even cover me to drive other cars.

I was charged more by my current broker to go from a BMW 525i to an Alfa Romeo GT 1.9, but the BMW would be more expensive to insure with bestquote.ie

I do shop around every year, but my broker has gotten me the best deal for about 9 years running now.

Interestingly, the quotes I got from confused.com were a minimum of €400 more expensive, so I would be much more worse off if I lived in the UK. The most expensive UK quote was for a whopping £4992.01.

Really surprised that AXA came out cheapest - they obviously just didn't want my business when it came for renewal. More expensive by €200, and cost MORE to put her on the policy.

AXA dearer by 70+ euro for me - insurance up this week-end. Online quote 523.96.

RSA fully Comp at €451 at the moment but I'm contesting it with Bestquote as I can get two cheaper quotes on their website?
