Try Mobile Account Checker for Meteor or O2
Logs onto your Meteor or O2 Ireland online account using your mobile/pin combination and retrieves your billing information. You can also send web texts from the app and it has a widget for your homescreen too.

Also Meteor have an app but its not great at the moment and needs a little more work.
You can see how much data you have left with 3G Watchdog and if you have Handcent for your SMS it will tell you how many texts you have sent and resets itself at the end of your billing period

If on O2, you could try this.

I created a contact on my phone called Bill Account Check and put it's number as *111# which is the number you type in to get a balance on screen on O2. All I did after that was place a direct call shortcut on the desktop for Bill Account check. Every time I wanna check my remaining minutes and texts/data I just click that shortcut and it does the rest for me. no need for an app. I even went as far as putting the contact's photo as the O2 logo.
I'm sure it would work for other phone providers too if you are able to get a number (USSD code) to allow you to get it sent to you.
