I'm looking to send some cash in the UK. What's the easiest way to do it?

    Easiest or cheapest?

Either actually. Though I don't just want to send some cash via the mail service.

you could use your local bank IBAN, or someone like currencyfair

If you want to send money to someone in the UK you can buy a sterling draft in the post office or in a bank branch, it's probably cheaper in the bank. This will involve you sending a letter to your contact in the UK with the draft enclosed.

If you want to wire the money then Western Union or similar is fastest but it will cost a lot more.

If you have aib internet banking, and send it in euro to the uk with a iban and swift code there is no chrage, if you go to a branch it costs you 75 cent to fill in the form, band draft would cost you about 5.00
