Thermal store or cylinder

    Hello,
What do people think about thermal stores in a well insulated house? I am toying with the idea of a TS, ~350ltr, with a boiler and solar inputs. Would I be as well off with the boiler(lpg) connected to the UFH and the solar to a DHW cylinder with the boiler as back up, and a pump off the cylinder for showers? Is storing heat at 60c in a tank a waste in winter when there is very little benefit from ST? Or can one compare these, is it apples and oranges.

    Thanks for that fc,
but I am still in the dark a bit. A lot of energy being consumed by some posters! Nobody asking if keeping the buffer at 60c is a waste of energy. Imo no point in the boiler kicking in until late afternoon if wanting a return from the ST. I'll sleep on it tonight and try and get my noggin around it tomorrow:confused:
