I've split up (not divorced) with my wife after 10 years, its been six months now, we have a couple of kids. The guys live with me and are all under 10, so its hard work as I'm trying to keep a job going to pay the bills along with keeping a roof over their heads. She's not around to contribute to their up-bringing.

Anyway I've kind of had a few nice laughs with someone in work, nothing serious but we are getting intensely flirty, and have been like that since we first met. I've sort of forgot what its like to look at someone and think like that to be honest, she's really nice, but I don't know if I should try to take it further. I might be getting the wrong end of the stick and it might be my own need for companionship kicking in, but we can't keep our eyes off each other. To be honest I don't want to go down this road if there is going to be any negativity for either party and its probably better to just play it cool with her but I don't want to come across as if I'm not interested in her, I most definitely am! :)

Its taken me 6 months to get to this stage after been landed with the shock of a life time, I think I deserve someone like this in my life, once we are both singing off the same sheet. Also what if I am totally wrong and she is just a "flirty girl" I don't want to come out of this looking like a perv or anything, I'm a professional and my reputation in the workplace is important.

Does she know your situation? I presume she may if you work together.

There is no easy way to find out other than to give it a go but take it slowly: As you said yourself, you miss companionship so watch your desire to fill a void does not cause you to rush headlong into a heavy relationship before you are sure you have enough in common for the long run. Neither you or your children will want another break up.

That said, you have to dip your toe in the water sometime so talk with her and see what she is looking for....
