Mods, not sure where this should go - a friend has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and has been given a choice of radiotherapy or the Da Vinci Prostate surgical procedure.............

I'm just looking to see if anyone knows anyone that's had this surgery and feedback, if any???

The questions I would be asking in order to help me make a decision would be.

    1. How many of these surgeries has his surgeon performed?
    2. What is his complication rate? No the published rate but the rate in his practice.
    3. What kind of of radiation therapy is being offered, standard 3D or the newer IMRT?
    4. If IMRT is being proposed how many patients has the hospital treated with this technique and what are their complication rates? (hard question to answer as long term complications of prostate RT can take years to manifest themselves).
    5. Lastly the timescale for both treatments. Prostate RT has a long public waiting list and the treatment itself takes 7+ weeks.
