Standard Width

I kerbed an alloy wheel while exiting a shopping centre car park barrier recently. On stopping, another customer said he had done the same the day before and he too thought that the exit was very narrow. I measured the distance between the kerbs and made a complaint to the shopping centre. Does anyone know the standard width for these exits?
    Thanks
