Shane Ross Aggressive Canvassing Dublin South

I was kind of surprised to see that Sen. Shane Ross seems to be the number 1 candidate in Dublin South according to the poll here. I had an experience with his canvassers last Sunday afternoon in Nutgrove shopping centre in Rathfarnham which has put me right off this candidate, basically they entered the shop I work in and proceeded to go through their spiel to both staff and customers. One of them approached my counter and wouldn't let me get a word in until he'd fired off his whole speech, and as soon as he was done he moved straight onto one of the customers about 2 feet away and proceded to go through the whole thing again.

I appreciate that all candidates want to get their message across, but I value my right to politely tell the person that I'm not interested and keep walking/shut the door. Standing behind a counter in a shop makes me a captive audience and this freedom was taken from me. The shop is a Pharmacy, and as many of the customers approached were waiting on their prescriptions they were in the same position.

If anyone from the Shane Ross camp sees this they'd do well to review their canvassing techniques. Same goes for anyone else here who's involved in doing any canvassing, a little courtesy goes a long way.
