Unwanted Texts from Fianna Fail

Mods move if this is the wrong place but i have to stop these...

I've been getting texts from Fianna Fail now for about 3 years...I never ever gave them my number. (i have a feeling friends messing mite have signed me up at some collage open day or something)

At first the texts were being sent from a number which I don't have any more. I text back stop but kept getting them. the texts would tell me about fianna fail meetins which i should attend and things like this.

the texts that are coming now do not have any number attached. if i try to reply it just says Fianna Fail where the number should be and fails when i try and reply.

just another thing, after the 1st year of getting these texts i got sick of it and replied with a string of "F"ing and blinding to which i got a reply of the same sort!!!

anyone else get any messages from a none number source and if so how can they be stopped

thanks to anyone who can help.

These meetings, are they local to you?

Might be a local organizer. Well any organizer no matter if it's a cumann or GAA club often use computers to send out blanket texts to everyone

I'd say your texts aren't from HQ, probably a local cumann.

So if you know the location of the meetings, you know the cumann and you can find out who to contact.
Lot of hassle alright but replying stop won't end this

Edit, it's probably the Ógra group in your college!

well the texts i was getting from the actual phone number were for meetins in The Atrium which is a hotel in Dublin!!! i live in Kerry!! i was sent a message to tell me to Vote in a by election in Donegal at one stage too. i get on average about 1 every 3 weeks but i expect them to increase 10 fold in the coming few weeks!!

i dont go to collage nor have been in collage in the last 3 years.i think its a bit cheeky to be sending people texts with no way of the person knowing who is sending them or where they are coming from.

document any attempts you have made to have the calls stopped. It's serious and they can be fined per text

Was it Mehole himself or someone from a call centre in India pretending he was from Cork?

Yeah, that was sent out via a mailing list from HQ . . . so that's where you are getting them from.
