    Phase 1: Collect Underpants
    Phase 2: ?
    Phase 3: People.

Doesn't exactly have the same ring.

Saying and doing are two completely different things. These guys are in cloud cuckooland when it comes to economic issues, I'd rather give a vote to FF () then these donkeys, they'd end up doing less damage to the economy.

    Of course not.

While many of their proposals might seem good and honourable, here in the real world they just wouldn't work.

They are mainly there so you can have a protest vote without having to sink to the Shinners.

They've got Richard Boyd Barret in charge, who has been involved in every single fringe Socialist Ultra-Left Anti-War Anti-Capitalism Anti-Everything movement in Ireland in the last 10 years. Never heard any of his sollutions, just that he's against everything.

I be the majority of the country would vote for a party that said

"We will get your house out of negative equity" nobdy likes to admit it but greed is a powerful motivator

I thought they were part of United Left Alilance. So it's that grouping you're asking the question about. Unless People Before Profit fancy themselves top dogs in the group.

I actually surprised more retarded political groups haven't formed to try and win votes given the current situation. Then again I suppose there's enough of them there already.

To quote Churchill "Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery".

It's easy to sound brilliant, being brilliant is the hard part.

Yeah not like those other parties like Fianna Fáil or anything......it was a Bertie Ahern interview though wasn't it?? Surely that can't be right.

You can quote Churchill all you like, but the British were smart enough to vote him out of office after the war.

    Capitalism rocks :pac:

The Brits fcuked him out as soon as the war was done.

    Edit: beaten to the boot.

What you fail to understand OP, is that a lot of these lefty lunatic groups originally had their roots in Marxism. Their role is not to implement a better way of living-they are here simply to make life as difficult as possible for the capitalist system.

Useful idiots, as the Soviets used to call them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,778 ✭✭✭Pauleta

Boyd-Barrett wants to nationalise all of the banks and buy up all of the empty houses in Ireland to just give away for free. After that furore about that family getting evicted for not paying their rent for a year, who Boyd-Barrett supported. I guess he doesnt believe that people shouldnt pay rent for these free houses either. He is a loon.

As opposed to your grand logic that the left were put there to make Capitalism difficult?

I've seen some moronic things on AH but that took the biscuit.

Do you refer to everyone that offers a different opinion as an imbecile?

Perhaps you would like to educate yourself about cultural Marxism before you try to take the intellectual high ground.

This is from a former KGB propaganda officer-perhaps you know more than him?

Point 1: To get out of recession we need to reduce the government deficit and adopt a living standard that we as a country can afford.

Point 2: This is simply too difficult to do and there is no real appetite by anyone for the cuts needed, myself included. As soon as a government tries to implement the cuts we will try to get rid of them and vote in somebody else ad nauseum until the guys abroad lending us money decide to pull the plug and the people of this country, who have decided that they deserve a higher living standard than others around the world simply because they are Irish and not because their country pays it's way in the world, will find that the ATM's have run dry and that their simply is no cash in the country to pay guards, nurses etc and they won't be able to understand how this could be happening because this is Ireland!

As far as I can see their ideology is to take from the rich and give to the poor, Communism really. They had a guy on the Frontline once giving out to Bill Cullen that he had too much money. I am not a huge fan of Dr. Bill but i do recognise that he went out and worked his b0llox off for everything he has. Why should he give all his money to someone who never did a tap.

Im sure they make decent councillors as they are always out protesting about some local issue but it would be doomsday if they where to take charge of the country.

    Absolutely ridiculous statement.

Not all people earning over 100k are responsible for the economy crashing and a lot of them are people that worked hard to gain the positions they have gained and deserve the wages they are paid.

I think you are reading his post wrong. I don't think he wants 70% tax.:D

Boyd Barrett used to show up in school in tartan punk trousers, sticking it to 'the man' even back then..

His school was on Ailesbury Road, D4.

    That is all.

A bit like Joe Strummer who often song about his hate for the upper classes yet he himself went to private school and sent his kids to private school. He was a genius though so ill let him away with it.

Err, the banks are virtually nationalised already. Something about socialising the losses but privatising the profits.
