I'm trying to transfer files from one HDD to another via a 4 port USB hub on my Macbook but only 1 HDD shows up as being connected.

Would this work with a powered hub?

Yeah, it should do. I'm surprised even one of them shows up using an unpowered hub.

Is the one that's showing a HD with it's own power supply perhaps?

Only drives that need to spin up using the USB power won't work on an unpowered hub.

Thanks for your replies.. I was running both on USB.

I've ordered a powered hub from eBay
