Exact location of monument/statue?

    Hello all
    I'm looking for the exact location of an old monument (i think it may be related to the Ra) which i think is located somewhere just outside Roscommon town itself?
    It features a larger than life figure holding a sword (i think) and there is an open book carved in stone infront of it.
    Really sorry for the poor description. I'm hoping to visit it this weekend and am hoping some of you locals will know what i'm talking about!
