    Hi all,

I have been offered 10k for my Grand Vitara 1.9tdi 07. 98k km on it and it is in very good condition.

I have it advertised at €12k. I am in a bad way for money due to change in personal circumstances and although now 10k sounds very tempting I am wondering am I maybe thinking a bit too much outside the box and not making an more realistic decision??

any advice would be greatly apreciated,

    thank you:o

At least leave a bit of wrist left when you bite their hand off.

If you sell the Suzuki - how will you get around? Will that cost more?
If you don't sell it, what is the risk? Is the risk worth €2K

Was there much haggling involved? Do you think you could split the difference and get them up to 11K?

I just done a quick search on carzone and autotrader and 10K seems a bit low. If you are getting plenty of interest in it then I'd hold off for a bit more. But if you arent getting many calls you should probably sell.

So they will sell the car on for an extra 2000 euro, is that what will happen?

I was selling my car last summer had it advertised for 5.5K at the time.(06 swift with 55,000 kms in really clean condition)
A guy text me from a cash for cars outfit text me and asked me to bring it in, I had the day off so said what the hell. He offered me 3K for it and said I was stupid not to take it

Sold it privately for 5K 2 weeks later
not sure if I am allowed to mention the crowd but will gladly PM anyone who wants to know

This is first time ever that I would advise any person to actually take the offer from a cash for cars company. Doesnt seem half bad that.

I wouldnt judge the price from carzone to be honest

    LOL :D

Not a bad offer at all for a car that has seriously gone out of fashion and with that age and mileage probably a ticking DMF timebomb too...

    thanks for all your replies.

    heres my logic:

    sell jeep for 10k

buy 06 commercial locally for 6500

have €3500 left pay off credit cards and overdue bills, after all that maybe leaving me with €1000.

why sell? its due for NCT, will need timing belt and tyre change towards end of year and hasnt been taxed since Oct, got quote for timing belt its €800 .

as a single mother with bills up to my eyes as my partner has recently left us should I hold out for longer as bills arent going anywhere or will I as some of you as suggested Take and run

Mo MO you may have it for sale for 12k but realistically even if you manage to sell it yourself the potential buyer is probably going to look for money off as well.

Unless your phone is hopping with concrete offers then maybe it's worth holding off. Have cash for cars put a time limit on acceptance of their offer?

If it were me I'd take the 10k offer and be done with it.

You say you will buy a commercial. Jut be sure that you can tax a comercial given that the latest rules require you to be a business user.
