Hi myself and partner are looking to go to Thailand during the builders hols (end july start aug) for a week or two weeks. we heard that bcos its the rainy season koh samui would be better than phuket. we have also heard that koh samui can be quite sleazy and run down in places. we would like advice on which island would be good for a couple in their twenties who like to go out every night but not on a mad one! more a romantic relaxing holiday not far from bit of lively nightlife. is it better to just go and book a hotel when you get there on a night by night basis or book beforehand??
