    Hi,

I've been looking at Chevron's 'Domestic Home Insulation Installer's Course'. Does anyone have any experience with their insulation courses? Also could a three day course like this actually be enough to equip you with the basic knowledge and practical skills to enter this line of work?

    hey

I did that 3 day course in galway last year i think it cost me 995 euro it was a waste of money.3 days sitting infront my pc and i would have learned as much.maybe 2 hours practical at the most.the course was mostly calculating u-values which i already knew so i learned nothing

    Hi Wasskies,

Many thanks for the reply, I've since heard of other negative experiences with this course so will definitely give it a miss. Would you by any chance know of any decent practical 'hands-on' courses on this? Many thanks.

    Hi Guys,

I was disappointed to read the negative post about our insulation course. Over the past 2 years we have been contacted a number of times requesting more practical exercises to be included on the course, which we have subsequently implemented. In every instance, we invited the student back to attend this course free of charge to provide additional practical training.

As this is a Fetac accredited course, we are required to deliver the extensive course syllabus as prescribed by Fetac, this restricts the amount of time that can be dedicated to practical exercises, however we feel that we have now achieved the best theory/practical training balance for this programme.

We would consider ourselves to be student focused and our trainers always accommodate student requests. Also, we have arranged work experience for a number of students with local contractors following course completion, which they have found to be invaluable.

    Regards,
    Chevron Training
