I was quoted €115 this morning for new breakpads on a Focus TDCI. A friend told me that they shouldn't cost more than €80 fitted.

    Is €115 excessive?

€60-€80 would sound about right for a set of aftermarket pads fitted, were you quoted
    for genuine ford pads?

Yeah, it was in a Ford garage.

I think genuine Ford pads are about €60 - 70, not 100% though.

So €55 is a fair price to install them. Thanks for the posts gents.

€55 would seem a bit excessive for about 1/2 hours labour
    but thats main dealers prices.

I'd imagine an Indy garage would be around €20-€40

Or yourself for €0 and if your stuck youtube.

Most dealers will not charge for a 1/2 hour labour, their minimum charge will be 1 hour whether the job takes 10 mins or 59 mins. €55 per hour for labour is not a bad price from a main dealer to be honest. Not trying to defend them but they do invest big money in premisies, equipment, training, etc.

An indy on the other hand may only charge for the actual time spent on the job as they have less overheads.

Get some decent aftermarket pads and do it yourself... main dealer for brake pads seems weird to me tbh

Well Ford charge more than €55 per hr labour so I guess they have a fixed charge for changing brake pads servicing etc.

Still too much to charge for a sprog outa Fas to work on your car tbh.
