Dutch recall ambassador to Iran

Heres hoping this is now the norm where western European governments are going to take a harder line with these nut job Islamic governments.

Zahra Bahrami was hung for drug smuggling (some may think this is justified) but then they would not hand over her body to relatives for burial. This follows on from cases of women being stoned in public for "alleged" (often by only the husband) adultery.

We must all stand against Islamic oppression before it takes over Europe. The dutch actions and david camerons speech are a good start. But a lot more needs to be done.

The Dutch did it because it was an obscene act toward the family of one of their citizens by the Iranian authorities. Nothing to do with Islamic opression.

    Technically you're both correct!

The dutch demanded just and proper judicial proceedings for one of their citizens. The Dutch feel that this is not the case, and were met with a blank wall in relation to trying to arrange a diplomatic solution.

The Dutch ambassador made appointments with the Iranian foreign ministry and was blanked when he arrived. Then they went ahead with the hanging, which the Dutch feel is unjust as they feel no proper proceedings were held.

They then summoned the Iranian ambassador in Den Hague to explain the situation and found that unsatisfactory. As they couldn't get any form of appropriate explanation especially after she was denied an proper burial, and was buried miles away from any of her family they decided to pull their ambassador from the country.

That is it as was explained in a dutch language current affairs programme here last week (its called Pauw and Witteman).

I used to defend Iran on the boards, not anymore, it is an oppressive evil religious regime completely out of control, blaming all problems on US/Israel, fixed elections, stonings, blah blah etc etc

I just feel so sorry for the millions of normal Iranians trapped with that ugly dictatorship
