Holiday in Italy

my wife and I are planning our first summer holiday with our 1 year old daughter. We are thinking of Italy but would like some recommendations on specific places that would be suitable for us. We are planning on going in July and would prefer a place beside the coast.

From the various places I've been the only one that comes to mind that is suitable with a child that age is La Spezia. It is a couples resort more than anything and I seem to recall them having child minding facilities etc in the evening but what might be more useful to you is this site, found it when I searched La Spezia...
